About

My story gets a little shellfish…

My story is that of my two loves: my love for effective communication through design and my love for nurturing relationships with people. And I believed that was where my story would end, juggling these two worlds in separate hands. But as my story unfolds in ways that continue to surprise me, a marriage of these two passions now exists, in the beautiful and evolving world of User Experience design.

I believe my love for people and our nature started as a child, growing up on a small farm in Maryland. With three sisters and acres of green grass to ourselves, creativity was playing dress-up with berry stained hands. As we planted fragile seeds and watched them grow into strong, fruitful stalks, I began to understand how significant intentional moments of specialized care are for the growth of living things. I have carried this same intentionality into my relationships and then further into my careers in design, hospitality, missionary work, and mentorship of people with differing abilities.

I enjoy solving problems, getting my hands dirty, and learning new trades (most recently, oyster farming). And my hope is that I can work towards creating efficient communication and inclusive design from a posture of humility and empathy for people in need of a better invitation into experiences. If the lens I view design through strikes you as a refreshing perspective to have on your team, contact me. I promise intentional care in whatever problem that needs solving. I may even throw in a dozen oysters.
